Chief Mooney served the Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years, and served as Chief of the Department for
many of these years. He also served as Treasurer and as Chairman for the Board of Directors.
He was bestowed the title "Chief Emeritus" recognizing his years of leadership as Chief of the Department.

Chief Mooney was also very active in the Maryland State Firemen's Association (MSFA) as well as the Baltimore County
Volunteer Fire Association (BCVFA).
Chief Mooney served as president of the BCVFA for several terms, as Vice Chairman for the Executive Committee of the MSFA,
and most recently as Chairman of the Firefighter's Memorial Committee for the MSFA.

| Chief Mooney was awarded the Gladhill - Thompson Trophy in 1989, the Leslie B. Thompson Award in 2004, and was inducted
into the MSFA Hall of Fame in 1984. |

Chief Mooney is survived by his wife Peg Mooney, brothers Charles "Mike" Mooney and Bobby Mooney, and
children Jamie, Beth, Tracie, Tim, and Meg. Charles "Mike" Mooney is a past Deputy Chief with the Baltimore County Fire Department
and son Tim Mooney is a FADO with the Baltimore County Fire Department.

| Viewings will be held at the Lansdowne High School, 3800 Hollins Ferry Road on Saturday,
July 12th and Sunday, July 13th from 3-5PM and 7-9PM. |

Funeral service will be at the Lansdowne Baptist Church on Alma Road on Monday, July 14th at 10 AM.
Following the service a Wake will be held at the Violetville Volunteer Fire Department on Benson Avenue.
